This one is for all who love a bit of laid back, boho wedding style…Gemma and Steve aka Cory & Penny know how to throw a good party and maaaaan was their wedding in North Devon wonderful!! It all took place at Ash Barton estate – known as the best big party house in the west country – Gemma and Steve chose it because there were no curfews on the music and the party atmosphere started early. It was just so much fun from first thing with all the girls getting ready together, right through to sunset.
Gemma and her bespoke Boho Wilden Bride wedding dress stole the show and rightly so. She floated around like a modern day, ethereal Goddess and literally did not stop smiling all day. I also fell in love with her freckles, just look at her beautiful face! Both Gemma and Steve had effortless style and radiated joy all day long. But the stand out thing for me was how bloody down to earth they were. Nothing was overly fancy or showy, it was just so them and so lovely. They had fish and chips for their wedding breakfast. Simply beautiful high street bridesmaid dresses in lemon yellow to match the sherbert and lilic blooms by Charlie’s Flower Shop. Their mates were the band and everyone got involved. Steve surprised everyone with a word perfect rendition of Gangsta’s Paradise. Loads of DIY went into their day and it made it just so personal.
There were nods towards their love of Game of Thrones, some home made sloe gin, a giant cheese wedding cake with all the trimmings but most of all the biggest amount of love flying around – so many squeezy tight hugs and laughter ricocheting off the walled garden all afternoon long.
Steve & Gemma/ Corey & Penny – you have the most wonderfully warm and wonderful friends and family around you and I LOVED being a part of your day. xx
