This post has been gathering dust in my drafts box for far too long. The past few years have really put me off my online A-game. I’ve been so much in love with photographing and editing weddings again, throwing myself into it all, that I just haven’t shared what I have been up to. And it has been SO much. Alongside weddings the family photography business is flourishing. I have become overwhelmed by what to share and where (instagram I’m looking at you). I just don’t know where to start. However, they say the best place to start is to just start somewhere. SO the drafts folder it is!
Oh how I LOVED May last year. After such an arduous winter and spring of rearrangements these pair bravely said ‘f$*% it’ let’s get married on our original date after-all, even if we can only have 15 guests. I give you the marvels that are Will and Pegs. Aside from it all being a thing of wonder for the retinas, it was one of those magical days that really did feel like the start of something extra special. Sometimes it is easy to see the wedding as an ‘end goal’ and focus so much on it that we forget that it is just the beginning.
It all took place one Spring day at one of my absolute favourite wedding venues, Coombe Trenchard. Visual highlights for me included – well obviously Pegs looking sensational in Maggie Sottero and Will looking super dapper in his uniform. Let’s just say they made the portraits easy! The florals; Joanna is so super talented and I cannot tell you how much I loved photographing her work. The bouquet looks like a classical painting in that magical window light at Coombe Trenchard.
The outdoor ceremony in between showers and the glorious sunshine that followed and the scramble for umbrellas mid ceremony – the photo of Will’s brother with the dodgy brolly is one of my faves from the day. Peg’s shoes-anyone who knows me knows my obsession with warm colours, mustard being up there at the top, but velvet mustard, well what a great choice.
Another fave moment was when we went to do the couple portraits Will & Pegs brought some bottles of cider – keep the party going I say! I also got to work alongside some of my absolute fave people from Emily at The Beautiful and the feast, Ellie The Up do Girl, Laura Le Page and Harriet at Boo to a goose. It was wonderful to be back doing what I love. Despite the restrictions it was everything and more that the first day of marriage should be. I cannot wait to start updating you on all that I have been up to the past 18 months.
