An initmate wedding at Camel Studios in Cornwall

Camel Studio is nestled into the Cornish countryside and just a stones throw from Rock and Padstow. It is fast becoming one of my absolute fave places to shoot at, not least because Helen and Dave are such excellent hosts. It feels comfortable and luxurious all at once. The venue has just the right vibe of laid back cool with high end styling. It is also where these two super amazing humans had an absolute smasher of a wedding day! As I always say, I get so lucky with the folk that find me. These two were no exception. Heart on sleeve, open and down to earth along with Holly’s attention to detail and lean towards a romantic boho blush theme made this one a cracker to shoot. For me it is always, always about the love story and the people and the love it generates and radiates.  But I’m not immune to the draw of the beauty of nature and choice decor… throw in some pretty autumnal light and gorgeous florals and it goes next level, from an aesthetic point of view. Oh and their super dog Chief who stole the show a few times during the day!

‘Emma,

Oh my gosh. Words can’t even describe how much we love all the photos you have taken of our special day.

Please please send me your address so I can send something to you.
You have excelled all our expectations, we only wish we had got you to stay the entire day!!
Thank you so so much,
Holly & Tom’
I don’t think I need to say much more on this – as their love for one another and the close family and friends who attended in person and via the wonder of tech – shines through by the bucketful. It was goosebumps, tears, gratitude and appreciation all day long. The highlight for me was watching (and capturing) their first dance under the festoon lights, moon and the starts which seemed to twinkle all the brighter just for them. Pure magic. Holly & Tom you really are such beautiful souls and I know you’ll continue to create a wonderful life together.

In the depths of mid winter I went to visit Rachel Snowdon at her home studio on Dartmoor. We discussed vulnerability and being a creative. Hitting on the imposter syndrome in an era of comparison online, being seen or unseen and pushing through anyway.  We talked about printmaking, art colleges, photography, folklore and history. We […]
