A sunny day in mid October is where this particular part of Sarah & Alex’s story begins. Following a whirlwind romance these two found their forever in each other.
Having never shot at Orchardleigh Estate before I was blown away by its beauty and character. I’m a huge fan of intricate, crafted architecture. The colour of the stonework shone golden in the milky autumnal light. The outdoor ceremony space, The Belvedere, was giving Italian destination vibes. Not a breath of wind made this day so balmy. The gardens are exquisite with the backlighting being some of the best you could wish for in the UK. The Ballroom was the backdrop the the reception and it was both grand and cosy. This venue is so welcoming and comfortable.
This whole day felt as though it was spun of gold. When a wedding day has light like this you know it will shine. As a self professed light weaver it was magical to capture. I’m obsessed by these honey tones, from Sarah’s golden hair, through to the ballroom colours where the wedding breakfast and speeches took place through to the details that enhanced the golden autumn rays it all came together with astonishing style and a colour palette so suited to the season.
Sarah & Alex’s love is one of gentle devotion. They hold each other in high esteem. In the lead up to the day they encountered some really trying days but the strength of their bond got them through it. This day is testament to their tenacity and togetherness. When you are determined to declare your love nothing will get in the way. To you both I wish you a much smoother ride in your marriage than the journey to start it.
I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed creating them. If you are planning on having an autumn wedding and want further inspiration check out this Devon Wedding.
