Last year was one of my hardest years personally but within that it allowed for so much personal growth and a sense of perspective you can only get when you lose a beloved parent. I definitely made sure I shot more images of families together and those little moments between folk that are small and subtle but mighty.
I also feel like there has been a shift in my work. A clarity. The undercurrent of capturing the energy is always the bedrock of what I do, but that energy has changed tempo. This year I have slowed my heartbeat a little and everything feels a little more considered. This feels authentic to who I am right now and allows space for a bit more understated beauty. I hope you enjoy this in the following images and if you make it to the end of the post; I salute you. I didn’t include any of my other work here as I think it would’ve sent me into a tailspin and would’ve been far too much for one blog post. I will post a round up of the family stories I have shot this year soon in some form (even if it’s just reel on the gram). AND I plan to blog a lot more of these weddings in full as I hibernate behind my screen until Spring.
As ever I am so grateful for all these glorious souls who trust me with their memories and let me tell their stories. I have met incredible people and it continues to keep me curious, but always, always believing in the power of love. It is always a huge privilege to be let in and welcomed into the fold. I am very excited about the upcoming year as I have some brilliant weddings lined up alongside some other photography work that tells stories about connections too. I am so lucky to meet the most kind and magical people in what I do. I hope 2023 comes up smelling of roses for you all. xx
