Couples sunset adventure photoshoot – wear it again

What would you do if you REALLY wanted sunset photos at your wedding but your wedding was either too wet, too far from the location you wanted to go to or the sunset clashed with your speeches. Or a hundred other reasons it just didn’t work logistically. Well, you could book a couples adventure shoot in your wedding outfits.

For Harriet & Marc, their wedding was in December and it was freezing cold and wet all day, plus Harriet’s second dress only had a short outing for the sparklers and dance floor; an Eliza Jane Howell dress this stunning just begs to worn at least twice!!

I’m a strong believer in not making your wedding into a lengthy photoshoot. Documenting the connections, joy and love as real, genuine moments is my bag. An adventure couples shoot is a great solution if you don’t have the time or the inclination to do these shots on your actual wedding day.

Harriet & Marc really enjoyed this adventure shoot and encouraged me to write this up for other couples. They said that without the pressures of a wedding timeline they could really embrace the experience and not worry about wild hair or getting the dress dirty. It was freeing, fun and great way to celebrate their relationship nearly a year on. They were super brave because what you cannot see is how big the swell was. We really had to time the final few shots to ensure they didn’t get engulfed by the waves. The stormy weather meant that the light was extra special. The salty spray caught the golden rays of the sun and gave way to an ethereal light.

Do you fancy digging out your wedding clothes for another outing? If so feel free to drop me a line for a mini adventure. If you want to see more couple sessions then why not check out this beautiful sunset session at Bantham in Devon.

In the depths of mid winter I went to visit Rachel Snowdon at her home studio on Dartmoor. We discussed vulnerability and being a creative. Hitting on the imposter syndrome in an era of comparison online, being seen or unseen and pushing through anyway.  We talked about printmaking, art colleges, photography, folklore and history. We […]
