Hotel Endsleigh Wedding Photography

When a photographer chooses you to be their wedding photographer then you know they really value your work. Once upon a time this would have made me feel more pressured, but now I really love working for other photographers because they understand the limitations, but also how to plan a wedding around the light! From my first contact with Izzy & Charlie I just knew this one would be super special.

Not only was it at one my absolute favourite wedding venues in Devon, Hotel Endsleigh, the way Izzy & Charlie wove their adventurous personalities and story into the day was beautifully executed.

They bring out the best in one another. Izzy & Charlie are both so grounded and you can feel their magic instantly. We met in person at Izzy’s family home for their couples session and it was like meeting old friends. They are so welcoming and so loved by everyone around them. The speeches at their wedding were testament to this.

The light on their day was exquisite. Autumnal low sunshine followed by a milky softness from the high cirrus clouds. Everything about the day had a light ethereal quality. Some of my favourite images from the day are of Izzy’s arrival at the church where her incredible Sassi Holford gown caught the breeze and the colours worked so well together. Other favourite moments include when the couple’s dog Bear was reunited with his owners at the wedding reception, the confetti line up with the perfect amount of breeze to catch the petals and the drinking on the dance floor moments, you’ll see what I mean when you see the photos!

Charlie sent me some very glowing messages which I’ll recount here;

“A few days ago Iz & I received your letter and honestly we’re so touched. We’ve written something back which hopefully does some bit of justice to how amazing you were throughout the whole journey. But genuinely we couldn’t have picked anyone better – you made it so lovely and your photos are honestly outstanding – we’ve had countless people saying that they are the best wedding photos they’ve ever seen. Genuinely. You captured everything, every detail and it felt like you really went the extra mile (and a half). Thank you.”

It was one of those wedding days that was super charged with heartfelt love and genuine connections. Small enough to feel intimate but big enough for a great party too. And what a party it was! Thank you both for welcoming me with such open arms and allowing me so much creative freedom to make these photographs. It was humbling and a real joy.

In the depths of mid winter I went to visit Rachel Snowden at her home studio on Dartmoor. We discussed vulnerability and being a creative. Hitting on the imposter syndrome in an era of comparison online, being seen or unseen and pushing through anyway.  We talked about printmaking, art colleges, photography, folklore and history. We […]

Wedding Photographer Devon Nothing quite beats a sunny September blue skies wedding day in Salcombe. The colour of the water. The circling seagulls. The salty tang to the air and the anticipation. Suzi & Tom’s wedding was full of colour and fun. Weaving the Salcombe hues through this one was a fun endeavour for me. […]
