You cannot get a wedding much more quintessentially Devonian than this one folks! Liz and Rob’s wedding epitomized for me all that is great about weddings in Devon; blue skies with fluffy white clouds, a pretty church surrounded by leafy trees, rolling green hills, a beautiful bride in a Charlotte Balbier lace wedding dress and a handsome, smiling groom. It all took place on a beautiful Summer’s day, on Dartmoor last August. Liz was officially the most excitable bride of the year. Wait ’till you see her pretty face beaming with joy and shrieks of happiness. Liz has not only been dreaming of her wedding day since she was a very small girl, she has tried to marry everything and anything; her Dad mentioned in his brilliant speech that she once dressed up as a bride and married a badminton racket!! Luckily for all involved she found her perfect man in Rob and got to get married for real! The uplifting and happy ceremony was held at St Pancras Church, Widecombe-in-the-Moor (which was where Liz’s Grandparents were married) and after a short stop off to enjoy the views and the sunshine, the celebration continued at The Edgemoor Hotel. Not only did the church have significance to Rob and Liz, but The Edgemoor used to be a school. With Liz being a school teacher loved the history of it. So much of Rob and Liz’s personalties were put onto their day, from the personalised name cards on the tables drawn by children at Liz’s school to Keith Lemon hanging out in the bar. There were some wonderful creative touches, but best of all was that Rob was grinning from ear to ear all day and Liz just kept saying ‘I’m having the time of my life’. Liz and Rob you were so much fun to be around, no wonder you have such fantastic friends and family, you are so well loved, your love for one another so real and your wedding was well… just like a beam of sunshine xx
